The Terraces

There are several terraces, all with differing characteristics, to suit most temperatures and most individuals' requirements.  We realise that some people like to lie in the sun whereas others prefer to stay in the shade and some days are hotter than others so there is a variable need for shade.

The Sunny terrace offers a large area for sitting, eating or sunbathing throughout the day.  Sun beds are provided for use on the terrace surrounding the pool and on the lower terraces.

It boasts stunning views of the lake and the valley.

There is also a shaded area, with a second large table, ideal for lunchtime or if you just feel the need to get out of the sun.

The garden surrounding the terrace has matured significantly in the last couple of years.  Enormous roses, vibrant portalucas and beautiful osteosperma light up the beds.  The BBQ nestling amongst them not only looks magnificent it also cooks superbly.

The Alhambra terrace acquired its name from its similarity to some of the shady nooks found in the Alhambra Palace gardens.  It is probably the coolest terrace during the heat of the day and is a wonderful spot for quiet relaxation, with or without a glass of wine.

The Garden terrace also offers welcome relief from the sun in the afternoons.  It is a comfortable, 'cosy' terrace.

The Side terrace offers sun and dappled shade under the vine, depending on the time of day.  It is sheltered from the prevailing breeze so becomes a sun trap during the middle of day, ideal for the serious sunbather.
